4 CBD Smoothies For Spring

CBD Smoothies are one of our favorite ways to get our daily dose of CBD, and now that Spring is coming, we decided it was time to revamp our recipes! We think seasonal smoothies are great because you’re getting the freshest ingredients for the time of year, so they’re sure to be peak quality and full of nutrients.

Why CBD Smoothies?

Smoothies alone can be great, they pack a lot of nutrients into an easy-to-manage snack that works if  you’re on-the-go, or just not feeling a full meal. But honestly, any smoothie can be improved by adding CBD! CBD, or cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive compound found in cannabis and hemp plants- unlike THC, CBD won’t get you stoned. For a long time, reports on the benefits of CBD trickled through by word-of-mouth. As more and more people tried CBD and experienced relief, word spread, and CBD was taken more seriously. Now, there’s a growing volume of research on CBD’s potential benefits, from sleep aid to pain relief. So, if you’re looking to take your smoothie game to the next level, add in some CBD!

If you’ve seen your local juice shop offering to add-in a few drops of CBD at an exorbitant price- don’t worry, there’s a cheaper and easier way- make CBD smoothies for yourself. And we’ll show you how!

Best CBD Smoothies For Spring:

We’re gonna share our favorite smoothies for springtime- these recipes really highlight our favorite Spring fruits & veggies, and they’re all super tasty, of course! If you want to mix and match on your own, here’s some ingredients we’d recommend for this time of year:

Spring Fruits

Strawberries

Pineapples

Mangos

Cherries

Rhubarb

Kiwi

Avocados

Bananas

Oranges

Spring Veggies

Kale

Carrots

Spinach

Swiss Chard

We’re recommending fresh fruit in all of these smoothies, but if you want your smoothie to be a little frosty any easy way to do that is using frozen fruit- pop that almost-too-ripe banana in the freezer, and use it in a smoothie so it doesn’t go to waste!

Spring Fling Smoothie-

This smoothie has two scrumptious layers of spring freshness, feel free to mix them together or enjoy one on top of the other!

Ingredients (makes 2 smoothies):

For the green layer

1-1½ cups of greens (Your choice! We’d recommend spinach, kale, or romaine!)

1 granny smith apple, cored & peeled (substitute your favorite apple if you don’t like granny smith!)

1 peeled banana

½ cup of orange juice

½ ml GRH 500mg CBD Oil

Optional: juice from 1 lime

For the pink layer

2 cups strawberries, sliced

1 cup rhubarb, chopped

1 peeled banana

5 oz yogurt

½ cup orange juice

½ ml GRH 500mg CBD Oil 

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients for the green layer to your blender, and blend on high until smooth. It may take a minute for all the leafy greens to be blended. Pour green layer evenly between two glasses. Rinse blender.
  2. Add all ingredients for the pink layer to your blender, and blend on high until smooth. Pour pink layer on top of the green layer in both glasses.
  3. We love the bold colors of this smoothie! To make a design or swirl in your glass, stick a straw in the bottom of your glass and raise it up through the top layer! Have fun with it!

Strawberry-Nanner Swirl Smoothie-

Strawberries and bananas are ripe and perfect to eat right now, so together they make a sweet, delicious treat that’s a lot healthier than it tastes! Plus, it’s super easy to make, with only a few ingredients involved.

Ingredients (makes 1-2 smoothies):

4-5 large strawberries, cored

1/2 cup coconut milk

1/2 cup yogurt (greek yogurt is best with this!)

2 peeled bananas

1 ml GRH 500mg CBD Oil 

Directions:

  1. Place strawberries in a blender. Puree until smooth. Pour your strawberry puree into one or two wide glasses, depending on how many you’re serving.
  2. Rinse blender briefly with water. Place remaining ingredients into the blender, and puree until smooth.
  3. Pour banana puree gently on top of the strawberry puree in your glass, and serve immediately. Drag a straw around the layers to create the signature swirl!

Going Green Smoothie-

This is a classic green smoothie recipe: easy to make and full of nutrients! Add a few drops of CBD, and you’ve got yourself a smoothie that’ll leave you feeling like a million bucks. 

Ingredients (makes 1 smoothie):

1 cup spinach (fresh)

1 cup water (substitute orange juice for a sweeter smoothie!)

1/2 cup pineapple*

1/2 cup mango*

1 peeled banana

1 ml GRH 500mg CBD Oil

*using frozen pineapple & mango can make for easier prep & cleanup! 

Directions:

  1. Add spinach to blender with water. Blend together until all chunks are gone.
  2. Add pineapple, mango and banana to blender.
  3. Blend all together until smooth and creamy. Depending on your blender, this could take as little as 30 seconds or as long as 2 minutes.
  4. Pour into a glass and serve immediately.

Skinny Pineapple Smoothie-

This is a treat and a half, but is much healthier than you’d think! Use frozen pineapple instead of fresh to make prep and cleanup a bit easier!

Ingredients (makes 1 smoothie):

1 cup pineapple

½ peeled banana

1/2 cup crushed ice

1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (or greek vanilla yogurt)

1 1/2 cups milk OR coconut milk

1 ml GRH 500mg CBD Oil 

Directions:

Add all ingredients EXCEPT for ½ cup of the milk of your choice. Pulse together until smooth, then slowly add the remaining ½ cup of milk until you get to your preferred consistency! Then, pour and serve immediately. 

You CANNOT go wrong with any of these recipes, and if you’re feeling more adventurous ingredients-wise, mix and match your own perfect smoothie from the list of in-season fruits and veggies above!
