It’s needless to say that today CBD is really popular – and it’s everywhere! People are really starting to see CBD for what it is. The truth is, CBD can be a helpful supplement, as long as you buy from a reputable, honest vendor. That’s how to know if your CBD oil is safe. This is precisely what makes all the difference, and it is something that should be taken very seriously. With all the scientific research happening on CBD, it’s evident that high-quality CBD is not harmful. But, there are some myths about this component that we want to debunk.
Following the show by Dr Oz and Dr Phil, where they state some CBD products might be unsafe because they allegedly contain a dangerous amount of unacceptable substances, such as lead, we decided to clear the fog around this subject.
We’ll try to explain how CBD might not be all that bad if it’s clean, natural, safe – and tested adequately. So, let’s see what all of this means for you, our customers!
What is CBD and is CBD Safe?
Sometimes the lingo surrounding CBD makes it hard to understand what’s going on – whether that information is positive or negative. The solution is straightforward! We just need to remember what exactly CBD is.
CBD is the abbreviated form of the term ‘cannabidiol’, which is a natural active component in the cannabis plant. There are hundreds of active components in cannabis plants, one of them is THC (which is psychoactive, CBD is not.)
Is CBD Dangerous?
So, is vaping CBD safe? Is there even a possibility of something so natural containing harmful and hazardous components such as the lead mentioned above?
Well, the answer is – yes, it’s absolutely possible, but only if you buy it from a suspicious company.
There are many factors to take into account when looking for a safe CBD product. The extraction methods, the amount of additional information the company gives, the amount of THC in the product, and more. But the most important thing to consider is, without a doubt, third-party laboratory testing.
What is Third-Party Laboratory Testing?
Lab tests are the only way to show if a CBD product is precisely what its producers claim it to be. There’s no denying it – if a company openly displays its third-party laboratory tests, then this is a definite green flag when you’re still pondering whether you should buy their CBD products or not. Is CBD Safe if not third-party laboratory tested?
Since the FDA does not regulate CBD, companies aren’t necessarily ‘obligated’ to check their products’ quality and purity except when it’s demanded that they prove their products contain no more than the legal limit of 0.3% THC.
So, companies could get away with just about anything without proper and trustworthy lab testing, potentially even not checking if their products contain dangerous levels of heavy metals. We think this is wrong on so many levels, but we also want you to know in this market, it is the customer’s duty to make sure what they’re buying is 100% safe. This is why we cannot stress enough the importance of checking for lab tests.
Lab tests are not only crucial for determining the presence of hazardous ingredients, but they also serve to prove that a particular CBD product actually contains CBD. There was testing done on some CBD products back in 2019, and these tests even showed that the products had either way less CBD content than what was written on the package, or none at all! How crazy is that?
Make sure the lab being used is reputable- a quick Google search should show you if the lab they’re using looks legitimate.

We also do regular third-party lab tests on every product that we sell – no exceptions. We’re proud of our lab results and we have an entire section dedicated specifically to it. You can find the complete list of our CBD lab reports here to determine for yourself if our CBD is safe.
What Should a Lab Report Contain to Verify CBD Safety?
Reading a CBD laboratory report is actually not as scary as it seems! There’s a few things to look for, you can find a detailed explanation of this subject in our article How to Read a CBD Lab Report.
The main things to pay attention to are: CBD content, THC content, and the content of microorganisms and/or heavy metals. If all of these components are within the safe, legal limits, you should be good to go!
